Becareful of www.bible-knowledge.com/baptism-of-the-holy-spirit/ dodgey stuff in this article

In this rather comprehensive article about how we on a human level we must prepare ourselves to be able to receive the Holy Spirit I came across a very disturbing and wholly unscriptural and counter word of Christ suggestion.

In his article he writes: "If you do not confess and renounce these types of heavier sins before God the Father, then what could possibly happen is that a demon will enter into your soul area when you ask for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit rather than the Holy Spirit entering up into your soul area."

How completely opposite to Christ's teaching.

In 1 Corinthians 4:6 it clearly warns "do not go beyond what is written" And that is exactly what the above paragraph does. But do not fear Jesus addresses this ludicrous suggestion head on:

Read:  Luke 11: 11 - 13:  ‘Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for a fish, will give a snake instead of a fish? 12Or if the child asks for an egg, will give a scorpion? 13If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!’

In 1John 1:7 it says the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all/every sin." Yes you mus repent of a sinful life, but the fact is that until the day the Lord Jesus returns we will be caught in sin and need to take up our cross daily and repent of sin. Your are not made perfect there and then, it is a process of refining.

In Ephesians 1:13 it says: "And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit" and Romans 8:9 says: if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ" 1 John 4:4: You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. I Cor. 6:19  "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?"
1 John 4:4: "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." 2 Corinthians 3:17: Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."(Demons enslave)

Hebrews 4:12: For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. - Clearly there is one spirit and one soul not two spirits as is suggested. Either you have received the Holy Spirit or you have not. There is no dual Spirit of God presence. You can get filled a fresh with the Holy Spirit, as John says the Father will give the Spirit with out limit, but once again there is no second presence of the Holy Spirit, as it is written the Lord is One!

Even our good deeds are like filthy rags. So do not get too caught up in this scare tactic sermon. You won't suddenly get a "serpent"(demon) if you as for a "fish"(The Holy Spirit). Re-read for good measure: Luke 11: 11 - 13:  ‘Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for a fish, will give a snake instead of a fish? 12Or if the child asks for an egg, will give a scorpion? 13If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!’

God is our Father and he wants to help not harm, if you are saved and ask Him for the Holy Spirit He will NEVER send a demon. Christ's blood is sufficient and he has paid for our sin ALL SIN! Yes continue to repent and tackle it with all your heart, yes accept that only Jesus can redeem you in this way you will gain freedom through Christ, but never buy into the idea that our Good and Loving Father would give you a scorpion if you ask for an egg! And you can take that straight form the Son's mouth!

I take offence to what their article is suggesting of the Goodness and Trustworthiness of our Heavenly Father? May the Lord rebuke it!
